September 4, 2024, is a day we will never forget. It changed our school, our families, and each of us. Today marked one year since the heartbreaking day we lost Christian, Mason, Cristina, and Richard, and I am deeply moved by the strength, compassion, and unity I saw across our campus as we honored them today.
This morning, students and staff participated in eighteen service projects to show our tremendous appreciation to the community for their unyielding support over the past year. Helping is healing, and we were honored to pay it forward.
This afternoon, staff and community members led students in wellness and gratitude projects, including writing notes to first responders and supporters. We also took time to practice mindfulness, reflect, and demonstrate the kindness and resilience that define Chee Nation. Our guest speaker, Chris Singleton, spoke to us about moving forward in unity and love.
September 4, 2025, was about paying tribute to the precious lives we lost, caring for one another, and claiming our school as our own, and today was a beautiful reminder of what it means to belong to Chee Nation.
