Grad Track Student Spotlight: Jeremiah Frady

Jeremiah Frady

Jeremiah Frady is a student who is a great example of what happens when someone makes the decision to start actively pursuing a lifelong dream. Jeremiah has really taken off this school year and is doing an amazing job of doing the work to become the person he wants to be. His biggest dream is to race cars when he gets older, but he will be happy to be a mechanic in the racing industry if the big dream doesn’t happen. He knows he needs to be successful in high school to achieve the goals.

Jeremiah started his high school career at the Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy and quickly realized it was not the best fit for him. He struggled with motivation to attend school and did not do well in his classes. At the end of the semester, he decided he wanted to attend Apalachee High School. Unfortunately, the motivation to achieve was still lacking. His attendance was not great, but he still squeaked by and passed all his classes. Due to his rough start at BASA, he finished his freshman year being a little off track.

Moving into his sophomore year, he wanted to strive for more. However, he developed some bad habits during his freshman year that proved a little hard to break. His father was also struggling with his health, which made the situation more challenging. At the midpoint of the fall semester, he decided it was time to do better. Jeremiah started attending school on a regular basis and started passing his classes. He finished first semester passing all of his semester classes.

Sadly, Jeremiah’s father lost his battle against cancer in late January 2023. Jeremiah was devastated but also knew he wanted to honor his father’s memory. He has committed himself to his dream of being in the racing industry because he knows it would make his father proud. To make his dream a reality, Jeremiah has hopes to continue his education in an automotive program at Lanier Technical College when he graduates. He said his father’s passing gives him the motivation to do his best.

Jeremiah knows his success in school is what will make this dream happen and he is taking the steps to do his best. His science teacher, Mr. Blount, says, “Jeremiah has been putting in the work and doing great. For some kids, the class is really challenging, and Jeremiah has risen to the challenge through hard work and determination.” Mr. Blount shared that Jeremiah scored a 96 on their latest test for the unit on genetics. He said this is one of the most difficult tests he gives, and Jeremiah’s hard work earned him a high mark.

Apalachee High School is proud of the work Jeremiah is putting in to achieve success. His commitment to honoring his father’s memory through hard work and dedication is truly commendable.
