Graduation Parking & Spectator Guidelines

In the best interest of our neighbors and our families, Apalachee High School and Barrow County School System leaders met with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, County Commissioner Alex Ward, and School Board Member Beverly Kelley to discuss parking concerns related to graduation.

We ask our Class of 2024 families to please follow the parking and spectator guidelines below for Graduation on Friday, May 24. Parking at the school will open at 5:30 p.m. Stadium gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Graduates should arrive by 7 p.m.

  • With 400 graduates, we are encouraging 10 spectators per graduate and carpooling. Each graduate should limit to two vehicles (not including the graduate’s car). This will be a minimum of 4,250 spectators and over 1,300 vehicles, including staff.
  • Consider parking at Restoration Church, 1250 Tom Miller Road, where our air-conditioned school buses will happily shuttle you to and from the school. The shuttle will run from 6:15 pm-7:30 pm before the ceremony.
  • Do not park anywhere along Haymon-Morris Road or in the subdivisions across from the school. This creates a safety hazard for our neighbors and those in attendance for our special event. BCSO says vehicles will be towed.
  • There are nearly 100 spaces reserved for accessible parking in the lot closest to the stadium.

Allow yourself plenty of time to smile through traffic, park, and find a seat to cheer on your graduate! Let's work together to make it a safe and memorable night for the Class of 2024!

Other items to note:

  • There is only one restroom area open for everyone. The lines will be long!
  • Keeping guests to 10 or fewer per graduate will help alleviate crowding issues.
  • Balloons and tents are not allowed in the stadium. Be mindful of blocking the view of others with signs.
  • Watch the ceremony from the comfort of your home through our YouTube channel.
