Over the past three years, the Winder Rotary Club has shown outstanding support to the Center for Innovative Teaching. In total, the club has donated over $14,000 to support BCSS students, teachers, and programs as part of the Center for Innovative Teaching. The Winder Rotary Club relocated their Peace Pole to the CFIT campus as a sign of their commitment and partnership.

To celebrate the International Day of Peace, the Winder Rotary Club gathered at the Peace Pole on Monday. Rotarians are people of action and come together to promote peace and social justice. A short dedication was led by Winder Rotary President Ben McDaniel. He shared the history of the Peace Pole, "A peace pole is a monument declaring the message 'May peace prevail on Earth' in the language of the country in which it was placed and usually several other languages. This pole has five languages: English, Japanese, German, Spanish, and Cherokee." In his remarks, McDaniel emphasized how peace will prevail, even in these challenging times.

A Peace Pole is an internationally recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams. Thank you to the Winder Rotary for help making dreams come true at the Center for Innovative Teaching. The Peace Pole is now on display on the campus.
