Congratulations to Claire Smith on her promotion to Assistant Principal of Statham Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year. The Board of Education approved the move during the June 3 meeting.
Claire brings nearly 26 years of experience in education. She began her career in Barrow County, teaching 7th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at Winder-Barrow Middle School. For the past eight years, she has served as the Instructional Coach at Statham Elementary, where she has been a dedicated leader and advocate for student success.
"My goal is to continue building strong relationships with students, families, and staff while
fostering a culture of high expectations, joy in learning, and academic excellence. As Statham
Elementary enters its 120th year, I am committed to giving 120% to our students — the
future of our community."
