Georgia celebrates Apply to College Month during November and March each school year. Check out what schools are waiving their fees this month on GAfutures.org. Winder-Barrow will host events throughout this month to engage and excite students to learn more about the process to attend college or take steps in applying. Our Apply to College Week is happening Nov. 10-14.
We're bringing back whole school engagement activities! Seniors and Juniors, be sure to plug into the activities and events that help you complete the steps you want to take after high school.

Take a look below at the different days and ways to prepare and celebrate the 2025 Apply to College Week! Sign-up will be required for the different sessions, so work to sign-up by Friday, Nov. 3 at 3:20pm. Check the WBHS social media accounts for more daily reminders.

Nov 10 - LatinX Session - Seniors and Juniors are invited to sign-up for this session in the cafeteria. This session is designed for students with Latin/Hispanic heritage to hear from a presentation from the UGA Hispanic Student Association that focuses on the college application process, first year experience/transition, and scholarships/paying for college. Also, Seniors and Juniors can sign-up for a Resume Workshop with Ms. Jackson in the cafeteria.
Nov 11 - College Rep Panel –Hear from a few different GA based schools: GA College & State University, Lanier Tech, University of West GA, Young Harris. 9am in the Cafeteria. These admissions reps will discuss the process to apply and overall campus life. Once again, Seniors and Juniors can sign-up for a Resume Workshop with Ms. Jackson in the cafeteria at 2pm.
Nov 12 - Apply to College Day - This is what it's all about folks! Seniors, sign-up for session this day and get time to work on applications to college with help! Also, since November is Apply to College Month in GA, there will 35+ schools you could apply to for FREE.
Nov 13 - Financial Aid Day - This is the glue that holds your college pursuit together. Seinors, sign-up for a session and we'll help you with your FSA ID, complete GA Futures accounts, discuss the process for applying for financial aid and give you time to complete a scholarship search. - WBHS Counseling Financial Aid Presentation
Also, 11/13 at 6pm, we’ll host Financial Aid Night Presentation in the WBHS Cafeteria for ALL students and families to learn more about financial aid services, GA HOPE Programs, loans and scholarships from financial aid experts. No sign up necessary.
Nov 14 – Apps and Aid Work Day - Seniors, these sessions are for you to complete what you need to get done this week, or continue working where you left off! Former WBHS Grad Panel - Seniors and Juniors, these students have recently graduated from Winder-Barrow and want to come back and share their experiences with you. 10am in the Cafeteria. Here is where you can get the real story from former students who were just like you.
