Barrow County School System’s Class of 2023 has achieved a high school graduation rate of 91.5% - the highest in BCSS history since grad rates have been measured statewide (starting in 2000). This 4-year cohort graduation rate is based on the number of students who graduate within four years of entering ninth grade. BCSS graduated 984 students, an increase of two percentage points from the class of 2022 (89.49%).
The Georgia Department of Education reports the 2023 grad rate for the state of Georgia is 84.4%. For the past 9 years, Barrow County has consistently posted above the state average.

- The graduating class of 2023 is the largest cohort of graduates to date for BCSS.
- Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy graduated their first class in 2023 and boasted a graduation rate of almost 98%.
- Despite pandemic shutdown challenges during their ninth-grade year, these students finished stronger than any previous cohort. Students worked diligently with counselors and graduation specialists to ensure they were ready to graduate.
