Advisement

Picture of Students

What is Advisement?
Advisement is a series of sessions when you child will meet in small groups with their Advisor specific to their grade level in order to form a teacher-student bond while helping them make decisions for their high school career and beyond.

When is Advisement?
Students will meet with their Advisors every Friday, with a lesson the last Friday of each month to discuss future goals, post-high school decisions, schedule their future high school  courses as well as many other necessary topics.

What is an Advisor?
Advisors are teachers helping the students develop a sense of belonging, monitor their academic progress, assist them with planning their sequence of courses, advise them on career and post-secondary choices and promote a safe-haven for the students thus helping improve the relationship between teachers and students. Advisors are an important part of your student's high school lives. Many students go through high school without a single teacher really knowing them… except their advisor. As one of your student's advocates... Get to know their Advisor because this is the person you will meet with each year to discuss their scheduling needs.
