Superintendent's Spring Break Message

I know we are all still processing the news from the Governor's Executive Order that school buildings will remain closed the rest of this year. It is really hard to imagine that we won't be back to bring closure to this school year for our students, for our teachers, for our families, and for each other. It is okay to be a little sad. I know I am. While school isn't the only thing that makes us happy, it is such a huge part of our lives, it is what we do and who we are. We will get through this, as we always do together.

We recognize the need to develop a plan for a number of end of year events, such as honors night, graduation, and other celebrations. We are also working through a number of outstanding questions, like retrieving personal items from schools, kindergarten registration, yearbook distribution, and how final grades are determined. We are currently working through this with our district leadership and will be communicating our plans in the near future. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

When we return on April 13th after spring break, we will adapt to our new normal as best we can. We will continue to teach. Our students will continue to learn. We will continue to be Boldly Committed to Student Success. On our website, we will be posting updated learning from home plans and expectations.

Until then, please take spring break to spend time with your children and families. Enjoy the spring weather. Play a board game. Read a book or two.

Thank you.
Dr. Chris McMichael, Superintendent
