School Closure Extended
Governor Kemp’s executive order has closed schools through March 31st. With the proximity to our scheduled spring break, we will remain closed until after spring break. We have not yet determined a set date and will be sure to update you as soon as we have that. We do not yet know how this will affect scheduled events such as prom and graduation. Online learning will continue through Friday, April 3 and a decision on when/if we will resume activities, field trips, fine arts events, and athletics will be made at a later date.
Thank you students, parents and teachers for making our Learning from Home a great success. While this is a challenging situation, we thank our school communities for embracing this opportunity to learn in a different way.
Meals for Children - Delivery Now Offered
Our School Nutrition team is currently providing meals at no charge to children under the age of 18 weekdays at Apalachee and Winder-Barrow High Schools. If families are unable to get to these two locations, they can now sign up to have meals delivered. Our community partners have generously volunteered to provide this support for children. We do have limited volunteers so if you have the ability to pick-up at our two schools, please do so to allow us to best support students with the greatest need. We also ask for your patience as we work through the logistics of this new initiative. After you submit a response, there might be a day or two delay while we coordinate delivery. While we are doing our best to provide delivery, we cannot guarantee this is possible in every instance.
