BCSS staff and students extend a heartfelt thank you to the Winder-Barrow Community Theatre (WBCT) for their continued support of the BCSS weekend meal-bag initiative, Feeding Barrow.
Following the July production of Are We There Yet? by the Children’s PLAYhouse, WBCT generously donated $524.00 from the proceeds to support the weekend meal-bag program, which serves food-insecure students in our community. Local audiences enjoyed a delightful performance featuring both children and adult cast members in a hilarious musical exploring travel and transportation throughout history.
During each show, WBCT highlighted the issue of local childhood food insecurity and the positive impact of the Feeding Barrow program, which provides weekend meal bags to 450–500 students in need. Thanks to the compassionate support of community members and organizations—and in partnership with local nonprofits such as New Path 1010 and Nothing But the Truth—students identified for the program receive meal bags containing food and snacks to sustain them from Friday supper through Sunday supper.
