Weather Watch: No Jan. 31 Activities

We are closely monitoring the next round of winter weather expected this weekend for our area. Based on the forecast and after consulting with local emergency teams, all extra-curricular activities for Saturday, Jan. 31, have been canceled.

Any decision concerning our Monday school schedule will be shared with families no later than Sunday evening through email/text messages, our websites, social media, and local media stations. If you are not receiving our direct messages, please check your contact information in the Parent Portal.

2025 GSBA Exemplary School Board Status

Barrow County School System (BCSS) is proud to receive Exemplary School Board status for 2025 from the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA). This recognition showcases best practices in school governance and leadership. BCSS met and/or exceeded the criteria to earn the honor.

"I'd like to thank our Board of Education members for the important, collaborative work they do for the students and staff of Barrow County School System," said BCSS Superintendent Dr. Dallas LeDuff. "Every decision they make is to facilitate student success and enhance school safety, all while striving to be good financial stewards for our community."

Georgia superintendents and board members developed the GSBA Governance Team Recognition Program based on the state board of education’s standards for effective governance to recognize exemplary leadership.
