BCSS Work-Based Learning Hosts Northeast Region Coordinators

Work-Based Learning Coordinators at Camp Twin Lakes

Barrow County School System Work-Based Learning (WBL) proudly welcomed 68 WBL Coordinators from across the Northeast Region for a day of collaboration, professional development, and partnership building at Camp Twin Lakes.

The event kicked off with warm greetings from BCSS Superintendent Dr. Dallas LeDuff and CTAE Director Dr. Jennifer Wood. Their inspiring words set the tone for a day focused on strengthening regional connections and celebrating the impact of work-based learning.

Coordinators engaged in a variety of activities, including team-building exercises, guided camp tours, and a shared lunch experience. Camp Twin Lakes, a valued partner of Barrow CTAE, showcased its ongoing commitment to education and workforce development. The camp supports Barrow CTAE initiatives by hosting teacher externships, employing WBL students, facilitating CTSO Officer Training, and serving as a site for Youth Leadership Barrow.

Barrow WBL Coordinators Miranda Deaton, Thomas McElheny, and Tywanda Jackson were proud to share insights into the strong partnership between Barrow CTAE and Camp Twin Lakes. Their presentations highlighted the collaborative efforts that continue to enrich student experiences and prepare them for future success.

This regional gathering not only reinforced the importance of community partnerships but also provided a platform for coordinators to exchange ideas and best practices that will benefit students across Northeast Georgia.
