PUBLIC NOTICE

The Barrow County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.08 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Barrow County Board of Education, 179 West Athens Street, Winder, GA 30680 on June 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Barrow County Board of Education, 179 West Athens Street, Winder, GA 30680 on June 27, 2024, at 1 p.m.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 15.5 mills, an increase of .463 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 15.037 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $350,000.00 is approximately $63.89 and the proposed tax increase for non‐homestead property with a fair market value of $350,000.00 is approximately $64.82.
