General Information
Promotion shall be based upon units accumulated as follows:
- Freshman to Sophomore – 6 Credits
- Sophomore to Junior – 13 Credits (Eng – 2 Units, Math – 1 Unit, Science – 1 Unit, Social Studies – 1 Unit)
- Junior to Senior – 18 Credits
Grade levels will not be changed between first and second semester unless the student is moving into the 12th grade.
Students entering 9 th grade in school year 2020-2021 or thereafter:

+ The 4 th science unit may be used to meet both the science and pathway requirement but may only count for 1 unit of credit.
**PE/Health is a state of GA requirement for graduation. Some students may substitute 3 JROTC courses for the PE/H requirement.
Starting the 2020-21 school year, the BCSS will no longer recognize the Tiered Diploma system for levels of distinction.

GA Bridge Law requires that high school student explore and save careers to their Individual Graduation Plan during their freshman year.
- Students must save at least 3 options to their profile
GA Bridge Law requires that high school students be made aware of College Credit Now programs and will complete YouScience assessments saving 3 or more careers to their profile during their sophomore year.
- Dual Enrollment has replaced Move On When Ready
- In GA, dual enrollment is open to anyone grades 9-12 who qualify
- Students may enroll part-time or full-time
- Student will receive high school and college credit simultaneously
GA Bridge Law requires that high school student explore and save post-secondary schools during their junior year. Students will complete the YouScience assessments.
- Students must save at least 3 options to their YouScience profile
GA Bridge Law requires that high school students identify and save your next steps during their senior year. Students will save it to their “My Career Plan” through their student portal.

Important:
WBHS welcomes any guardian or student to speak with our counselors regarding circumstances impacting your family. We can discuss school based recommendations, as well as give you resources we deem appropriate. If your student has recently been hospitalized or evaluated by a mental health professional, please contact your school counselor to develop a Safety Plan for re-entry into WBHS.
