Title I Information

The Barrow County School System encourages parental involvement in education. Parental involvement is defined as regular, two-way, meaningful communication involving student academic learning.

Parents play an integral role in assisting in their child’s learning and are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school and home and to be partners in decision-making to assist in the education of their child.

What is Title I?
Title I is a federal program that provides funds from the federal government to improve student learning.

Why does our school receive Title I funding?
Schools in which 35% or more students are from low-income families may receive Title I funding.

Parent Resource Center

The Barrow County School System Parent Resource Center is at the Professional Development Center, 179 West Athens Street, Winder, in room 166 and is open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
