Play Student Library Card Program

PINES Library Access for Youth (PLAY) is brought to you through a collaboration between the Barrow County School System, Georgia Library PINES*, and your public libraries in Auburn, Statham, and Winder

Barrow County School System student ID numbers will now act as a library card number for your public library! The public library provides free access to books and online resources to help your child succeed in school, as well as fun resources that help develop a lifelong love of reading.

How it works

  1. Visit prlib.org and click on "library catalog" in the menu. Click "my account" at the top right of the page.
  2. Type “BCS” and your 5-digit Barrow County School System student ID number. Ex. BCS12345
  3. Your initial password is the student’s birth month and year. Ex. 062010 (Born in June 2010).

Your public library is available all year long, including during the summer months.

The “Summer Slide” is the backward movement many children make when they forget what was taught to them in the previous year. Research shows that the number one thing that prevents the summer slide is reading books. It’s that simple. Those who read, succeed.
