REACH Scholars Isaac and Jasmine meet Rep. Terry England

REACH Scholars Isaac Xiong from Apalachee High School and Jasmine Hernandez from Winder-Barrow High School had the opportunity to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives Page Program for Representative Terry England. Their responsibilities were to deliver information including documents, bills, messages, and letters between various legislators and between the public and members of the House.

While at the State Capitol, they met with Representative England, Representative Houston Gaines, and Senator Frank Ginn. They also toured the fourth floor museum and met pages from other parts of the state.

REACH Georgia is a key tenet in the state’s Complete College initiative. Scholars are paired with a mentor and an academic coach through high school. They must maintain good behavior, grades and attendance, and graduate from high school. Scholars who successfully complete the program are awarded a $10,000 scholarship that can be used at any HOPE eligible college in Georgia.
