July 15 Update for BCSS

Dear BCSS Families, 
We hope that you are staying safe and healthy this summer. Please read the updates and reminders below. Please know that our situation is very fluid and decisions are subject to change based on new information we are receiving daily. 

1. Deadline for Distance Learning is this Friday, July 17
Please visit our website to read our Distance Learning Program and plans. Families (who are interested in this option) should enroll in Distance Learning for each child by this Friday. Please contact your school with additional questions. 

2. Frequently Asked Questions
Based on questions submitted by parents, we’ve created a FAQ section on our website. We’ve done our best to answer your questions. 

3. Action Plan 7.6
Our complete Action Plan for Reopening is on our website. It includes all of the precautions that will be taken in schools to mitigate the spread of the virus. 

4. Virtual Open House
Open houses will be held virtually. Please see the schedule on our website for when your school’s open house video will be posted on their website. 

5. New School Start Times
BCSS bell schedules have changed for the 2020-21 school year. Please check your new start time below:

  • Elementary 7:30am-2:00pm
  • Middle 8:30am-3:10pm
  • High 8:30am-3:35pm
  • BASA 7:30am-3:05pm
  • AIM 9:00am-2:30pm

6. Before/After School Care
Individual schools will be sharing information about their before and after school programs two weeks before the first day of school. 

7. Lunch Applications
School lunch applications are now available online for the parents to complete. Please complete your online form at

8. Borrowed Chromebooks
For students that checked out a Chromebook from their school in the spring, we will provide additional details before school reopens for how to proceed with the Chromebook. Please continue to hold onto those for now.
