Barrow Robotics Program POWERPLAY Season Begins

Barrow Robotics Program FIRST Tech Challenge Teams

On Saturday, November 12th, the Barrow Robotics Program FIRST Tech Challenge Teams competed in their first league meet of the FIRST POWERPLAY season at East Jackson Comprehensive High School in Commerce, GA.

The RoboClovers Varsity Team #18597 finished the day in 3rd place, while the JV RoboClovers Team came in 8th place in the first ever league meet of their rookie season. The Jackson League consists of 9 teams including two from Barrow, two from Jackson County's Empower Academy, two from East Jackson Comprehensive High School, and three from the Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology. Each team competed in a total of ten matches over the course of the double meet.

Each match is played by four teams at a time in a 2v2 alliance format, with each team randomly assigned to either a Blue or Red alliance partner. The highlight of the day was when Barrow's Varsity and JV teams were paired in a Blue Alliance to take on a Red Alliance of teams from Jackson's Empower Academy and the Gwinnett School of Math Science and Technology. With amazing teamwork, strategy, and execution, the Barrow Alliance stormed to a huge 107-4 win over the opposing alliance.

The RoboClovers next competition is scheduled for Saturday, December 10th at East Jackson Comprehensive High School.
