We are so fortunate to have wonderful members of our community who go above and beyond to support the success and welfare of our students and staff. To show appreciation, we feature them as Community Member of the Month to recognize the BOLD difference they make behind-the-scenes.
We're happy to recognize Melinda Shealey as the Community Member of the Month for April 2024. Vicki is the Executive Director, Spirit of Sharing, Inc. The Spirit of Sharing provides a helping hand to anyone in need through monthly food distribution, Share the Blessing Christmas Dinner, a food pantry, a clothes closet, cooking classes for youth development, and free legal clinics.
Barrow County School System Mentor Coordinator Barbie Kulp nominated Melinda for the many ways she supports our students and schools. "Melinda works so hard for the families of Barrow County. Her organization provides food for the hungry, clothing for those in need, and resource assistance for veterans and the homeless. She is a REACH Georgia Mentor for the REACH Georgia Scholar Program for BCSS Schools. Her passion is young people, but she gives her time, love, and energy to anyone that needs help."
Melinda has also served at Russell Middle School on the SGT and at RMS and the Horizon Program as a mentor.
