Welcome to the Holsenbeck Elementary Media Center.

Students may check out books any time between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. while school is in session. Students in kindergarten and first grade may check out 1 book at a time. Students in grades second through fifth grade may check out 2 books at a time, unless teachers have requested other arrangements.

Books are due back two weeks from checkout. We ask that students return the books as soon as they finish reading them. If they finish one of their books and would like to check out a new book, they must bring a book back to the media center. They may check out another book as long as they have no overdue books on their account.

Classes come to the media center throughout the week to hear a story, check out books, do research, receive instruction in library skills, and 21st Century technology skills.

There are no fines for overdue books, but if a child loses or damages a library book, he/she may not check out another book until the book in question is returned or paid for. Also, if there are unpaid fines, their report card will be held until all fines are paid.
