Before & After School Programs

Program Information:

The Morning and Afternoon Childcare Programs begin accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year on Monday, May 8, 2023.  Due to staffing concerns class size will be limited and applications will be approved on a first come first serve basis.

Morning Childcare Program

The Morning Childcare Program (6:45 a.m. – 7 a.m.) will be housed in the Auxiliary Cafeteria. The drop-off area will be the door at end of Hall "E" in the bus loop. The fee for the morning program is $5.00 per week per child.

Children participating in the Before School Childcare Program will have the opportunity to eat breakfast at the school beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Afternoon Childcare Program

The Afternoon Childcare Program (2:30p.m. – 6:00 p.m.) will be conducted in different areas of the school. Pick-up will be through the front office. The first 30 minutes of the program will be used for snack time, from 2:30-6:00 will be homework time, computer time, playtime, and/or art time. The fee for the afternoon program is $60.00 per week per child.

All children participating in the After School Childcare Program will be offered a snack. Students are asked not to bring personal snacks.

Registration

Students must be registered and their application approved before they may attend the program. The 2023-2024 registration fee is $25.00 per child, per program (morning/afternoon). Please remember, any changes concerning your child’s transportation must be made in writing. You must sign your child in each day and only those persons authorized may check out your child. Anyone signing out a child must be prepared to show an ID. Should you choose to withdraw a child, you must do so in writing one week prior to leaving the program.

Program Fees

Weekly Fee:
Morning $5.00
Afternoon $60.00

Payment is made on the Monday of each week or Friday prior to upcoming week. All checks should be made out to Yargo Elementary School. Fees may be prepaid and credits will be applied to future charges. Weekly fees are prorated only when the program does not operate three or more days. Weekly fees are charged regardless of your child’s attendance in order to hold your slot. All accounts should be kept current. Any child(ren) with past due accounts will be withdrawn from the program. Reduced rates apply for multiple children.

Program Schedule

WHEN BARROW COUNTY SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED, the CHILDCARE PROGRAM WILL ALSO BE CLOSED. The program follows the school calendar. If school closes during the day for emergency reasons, information provided on the Emergency Instructions form will be followed. Childcare will NOT be provided on early release days.

The programs will operate from 6:45 a.m. until 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on days that Barrow County Schools are in session. Parents may pick up their child(ren) at any time during these hours, but parents must pay full fees regardless of how many days/hours the child(ren) participate(s).
