Anissa Hulen: October BOLD Difference Maker

Anissa working with children

Every day, members of our community are instrumental to the success and welfare of our students and staff. To show appreciation, Superintendent Dr. Chris McMichael started the Community Member of the Month to recognize these individuals who are making a BOLD difference behind-the-scenes.

Anissa Hulen was chosen for October 2022 for her exceptional work with Path United at the Auburn Mobile Home Park. As Site Director there, Anissa offers Auburn Elementary and Westside Middle School students who live in the community a center where they can gather and participate in activities from arts and crafts and social-emotional learning to homework help and games.

Anissa's nominator is Mary-Michal Han, the Children's Community Director with Bethlehem Church. Mary-Michal wrote, "Anissa is already changing lives with what she is doing in the Auburn Mobile Home Park. Not only is she loving on children in elementary, middle, and high school, but she is also loving on parents, grandparents, and caretakers. She is walking with such love and empathy toward every child and believing in the best of their future. Students at Auburn Elementary & Westside Middle School know that if Anissa is there when they come home, she will love them, believe in them, and help them believe they have an amazing future ahead of them! I see her do her work firsthand, and she will continue to be the BETTER of this community. Path United is doing amazing things!"
