We are proud to announce ArtsNOW as an official District Partner in Education with Barrow County School System!
Our 16-year partnership began in 2007-08 with one BCSS elementary school and has flourished each year with arts-integrated professional learning for BCSS educators involving visual arts, music, dance, theatre, and media arts across all content areas. We are excited to embark on a new chapter of collaboration and celebration of the impact of arts-integrated content and exceptional professional learning for our educators.
Superintendent Dr. Chris McMichael says, “ArtsNOW has been a true partner having real impact on the work we are doing across our district to make teaching and learning more engaging for our teachers and students, with documented results to show for it.” The 2016-17 creation of ArtsNOW’s regional office location inside the Center for Innovative Teaching (CFIT) helped create our successful Arts and Innovation Magnet (AIM) Program, along with providing for many AIM classroom needs, and several CFIT building improvements.
What this District Partnership Means
As a District Partner in Education, ArtsNOW will continue to support student achievement and staff professional learning and appreciation through their programs. Those programs include after-school and summer camp involvement, STEAM kits, the award-winning Teacher Leader Residency, classroom improvements, mini-grants, partnership in ArtsNOW DOE federal grants, arts integration initiatives and so much more!
