These are just a few of the reactions from the members of the 2023-24 class of Leadership Barrow who participated in our "Principal for a Day" experience. Leadership Barrow is a an educational program designed for emerging leaders to understand more about our community.
The experience helped them get an inside look at how schools operate. Some of them say it showed them that community support is needed and appreciated.
Superintendent Dr. Chris McMichael and Chief of Staff Dr. Matt Thompson presented to the group and answered questions concerning growth and funding. Our Executive Cabinet also shared information about the school system.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM:
- Increase awareness among individuals in the private sector of the strengths and challenges in BCSS
- Demonstrate the private sector’s commitment to ensuring a quality public education for all students
- Form ongoing partnerships between individuals, businesses, and BCSS
Similar to the Principal for a Day program, we will soon welcome Barrow County Chamber of Commerce members to participate in Teacher for a Day!
