Safe Kids Northeast Georgia Provides Booster Seats for Students 2023

Safe Kids Georgia Booster Seat Distribution

Statham Elementary students have new booster seats thanks to Safe Kids Northeast Georgia and their Booster Seat Program.

The Safe Kids Northeast Georgia safety program focused on Kindergarten through Second Grade students and included an education day about booster seats and the importance of wearing a seatbelt correctly and riding in the back of vehicles. Students were also measured for seats and given coupons for free booster seats. On distribution day, families traded their coupons for free booster seats!

Local law enforcement officers and SafeKids volunteers provided 1:1 instruction with families on the correct installation of booster seats in their vehicles. This safety program gave 86 booster seats to families and educated more than 380 students about riding safely in vehicles.

The plan is to expand to other elementary schools in the district in the coming years. Last year, they gave more than 135 seats to Auburn Elementary and Winder Elementary School students during two different distribution days.

Thank you to all who partnered together to make this important and caring event possible!
