Thank you to the 269 BCSS.employees who are part of the High 5 Team - giving back to organizations that give to our community. The High 5 Team is a payroll deduction fundraising campaign. Because of the monthly payroll contributions, Barrow’s students and families will receive enhanced support through these five partner organizations and programs:
- Barrow Community Foundation - Crisis Fun & Barrow Together Fund
- Boys & Girls Club of Winder-Barrow County - Afterschool & Summer Programs
- Feeding Barrow - Weekend Meal Bag Program for Food Insecure Students
- REACH GA - Scholarship & Mentoring Program
- United Way - 3 Pillars of Impact: Basic Needs, Early Childhood Success, Workforce Development
All High 5 Team members were entered in a drawing for a grand prize from our District Partner in Education, Akins Ford.
Congratulations to Jody Woodard from Kennedy Elementary School for winning the Grand Prize! Jody is pictured with Ellen Petree and Mike Morsovillo of Akins Ford, who donated the lavender YETI cooler and insulated mugs that Jody selected from an assortment of colors at Wild Willies at Akins Ford. Jody also received a basket full of goodies from United Way, New Path 1010, and the Boys & Girls Club.
When students are supported at home, at school, and through excellent community support programs, they are more likely to be successful in our classrooms and in life. High 5 Team donations make a difference!
